ICC focuses on expansion of trade centers abroad

TEHRAN – The secretary general of Iran’s Chamber of Cooperatives (ICC) here on Tuesday said that creation of trade centers in the target countries is one of the main approaches of ICC for promotion of the non-oil exports by the cooperation sector.

Mohammadreza Ramezani added that ICC in collaboration with the Trade Promotion Organization of Iran (TPOI) eyes for laying the necessary infrastructures for the active presence of economic entrepreneurs in the target markets.
He referred to the aim behind creation of such centers as offering consultation services and supporting research and investment plans in a bid to facilitate and boost non-oil exports.
“A trade center is to be established in Afghanistan,” the official said and added that the ICC has made coordination with the Iranian ambassador to Kabul in this respect. He expressed hope that the TPOI, Export Development bank of Iran (EDBI), and the Export Guarantee Fund (EGF) would collaborate with the Chamber for removing the obstacles on the way.
“It is necessary for the ICC and the Iran’s Chamber of Commerce, Industries, and Mines (ICCIM) to follow up the formation of the centers in the target markets under government’s financial sponsorship,” he noted.
“The Chamber has several experiences of holding exhibitions in African states,” Ramezani said, citing that free trade agreements in the countries could facilitate mutual economic relations.
Highlighting the establishment of regular shipping line with Africa, promoting the airlines, and planning banking systems for offering monetary facilities, the Iranian official added that Iranian banks in collaboration with Central Bank of Iran (CBI) will open branches in four regions of the black continent.
